Star Anise is the dried fruit from an evergreen tree cultivated in China & Vietnam. Its sweet licorice-like flavor makes an aromatic brew that effectively eases digestive discomforts such as gas, bloating and nausea.

Star Anise is sometimes used as a stronger substitute for Anise Seed – both as a medicinal herb and for culinary purposes. Note: The two are from unrelated species

Ingredients: Star Anise

Common use:

Promotes digestion; alleviates gas, bloating, nausea, belching, abdominal cramps; promotes healthy respiratory & bronchial function; pleasant-tasting flavoring for bitter herbal teas; aromatic spice.

Suggested directions:

Pour 1 cup of boiling water over ½ to 1 teaspoonful of herb. Allow to steep 4-7 minutes, then strain. Drink 1- 2 cups of tea daily. If desired, add honey and/or lemon to taste.
