Psyllium is a bulk-forming laxative and is high in both fiber and mucilage.  Psyllium seeds contain 10-30% mucilage.  The laxative properties of psyllium are due to the swelling of the husk when it comes in contact with water.  Psyllium is a common ingredient in over-the-counter bulk laxative products.

Suggested Use: Take this product with at least 8 oz. (a full glass) of water or other fluid. While herbs and spices generally don’t spoil, they will lose their potency over time. How the herbs and spices are stored will play a large role in how long they retain their potency. If stored in airtight containers, such as glass jars, and kept in a cool, dark, dry place, whole herbs and spices can last up to 3-4 years and ground herbs and spices can last 1-2 years.
