Description:
- Soothes minor skin irritations
- Joint discomfort
- Cuts & burns
The dictionary defines “balm” as a fragrant oil or ointment that soothes or comforts. Such is definitely the case of the aromatic Balm of Gilead buds. They’re traditionally made into a soothing salve or herbal oil for minor skin irritations and joint discomfort.
The buds of the Poplar tree have been providing soothing relief for over 2,000 years, and now we know why. Modern research reveals the buds contain salicin, the natural compound later synthesized into aspirin!
Ingredients: balm of Gilead
Common use:
Herbal skin salve; soothes skin, muscle and joint discomfort. NOTE: If you are hypersensitive to aspirin or other salicylates, you may experience an allergy to Poplar buds. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR INTERNAL USE.
Suggested directions:
To make a skin care oil: Add approximately 1-2 tablespoons of buds to 2 cups of Olive Oil; simmer on low heat for 2 or 3 hours. Strain and add the infused oil to 1 ½ oz of Beeswax (can adjust to preference).
Warning:
